Translation / modern text
JAN DYMITR SOLIKOWSKI OF SOLIKI,
by the grace of God and the Apostolic See, Archbishop of Lviv. We make it known to all together and to each one individually whom it concerns, by this our letter: that although we conceived the intention of establishing a certain rent for the endowment of an anniversary service (anniversary) for the salvation of our soul, yet due to our constant expenses and the difficult times of the Republic, which must be served, we could not bring our intentions to fruition. Therefore, following the example of my predecessors, with the consent also of the venerable brothers of this our chapter, for the said anniversary service of mine, performed by the canons and vicars of the metropolitan church of Lviv once a year – on the day on which we depart from this life, or on the nearest free holiday – we allocate and have deemed it a duty to give the episcopal revenues of Kamionka and Busk, and we also allocate and give them for eternity. For which we also earnestly ask and beg my successors, the most reverend lords archbishops, that for the glory of God they respect this in view of some of my merits for this church.
In witness and surer testimony of which, we have signed this letter with our own hand and ordered it to be secured with our seals and that of our chapter. Given in Lviv at the general chapter held on the Monday after the Sunday of Reminiscere. In the Year of Our Lord one thousand five hundred and ninety-sixth.
