Urban, Bishop, Servant of the Servants of God, to our beloved sons, the people of the city and diocese of Lviv, greetings and apostolic blessing.
Today, we have provided for the Church of Lviv, then deprived of the comfort of a shepherd by the death of the late Jan Andrzej, formerly Archbishop of Lviv, who died outside the Roman Curia, by apostolic authority and with the counsel of our brothers, in the person of our beloved son Stanisław, Archbishop-elect of Lviv, dear to us and to our brothers due to the requirements of his merits, and we have appointed him as Archbishop and shepherd of that [church], entrusting to him fully the care and administration of the same church in spiritual and temporal matters, as is more fully contained in our letters drawn up for this purpose. Therefore, we admonish and earnestly encourage your entire community, commanding you by apostolic letter, that you receive the said Stanisław, Archbishop-elect, piously as the father and shepherd of your souls, and treating him with due respect, listen with humility to his salutary admonitions and commands, so that Stanisław, the Archbishop-elect himself, may rejoice that he has found in you sons of devotion, and you, in turn, a benevolent father in him.
Given in Rome at Saint Peter's, in the year of the Lord's Incarnation one thousand six hundred and thirty-three, on the fourteenth day before the Kalends of January [December 19, 1633], in the eleventh year of our pontificate.

Reading notes
Papal bull of Urban VIII of the littera executoria / conclusio ad populum type, notifying the faithful of the Archdiocese of Lviv of the provision of Stanisław Grochowski to the Archbishopric of Lviv following the death of Jan Andrzej Próchnicki. The original lead papal seal on a hemp cord (per filum canapis) is preserved. On the verso, an annotation regarding the report/proclamation of the bull in 1635 on the day of St. Michael the Archangel.
