Confirmation of the rights and privileges of the Tailors' Guild of the city of Lwów by King Augustus II
King Augustus II the Strong confirms the statutes, rights, and ancient privileges granted to the Lwów Tailors' Guild by the Lwów magistrate and successive Polish monarchs from Sigismund I to John III Sobieski. He further obliges the castle and municipal authorities of Lwów to strictly observe and protect them.

AUGUSTUS THE SECOND, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, KING OF POLAND,
Grand Duke of Lithuania, Ruthenia, Prussia, Masovia, Samogitia,
Kiev, Volhynia, Podolia, Podlachia, Smolensk, Severia, and Chernihiv,
as well as Hereditary Duke of Saxony and Prince-Elector.
To all and everyone whom it may concern, we hereby announce by this our letter that through certain of our councilors remaining at our side, there were presented and shown to us in the name and on behalf of the Tailors' Guild of our city of Lwów parchment documents containing confirmations of the rights, privileges, and ordinances serving the same guild. First, the ordinance drawn up by the noble and distinguished Lwów magistrate in the year of our Lord one thousand five hundred and twenty-eight, then by our Most Serene Predecessors, that is: SIGISMUND the First in Kraków on the Tuesday after the feast of the Most Holy Trinity in the year of our Lord 1533, SIGISMUND AUGUSTUS in Warsaw at the general crown sejm on the eleventh day of the month of June in the year of our Lord 1570, STEPHEN in Toruń at the general crown assembly on the fifth day of the month of November in the year of our Lord 1576, LADISLAUS IV in Lwów on the twenty-sixth day of October in the year of our Lord 1634, JOHN CASIMIR in Sambor on the thirty-first day of the month of August in the year of our Lord 1649 [in the text: 1609], MICHAEL in Lwów under the date of the twenty-sixth day of the month of October in the year of our Lord 1671, and also by the immediate [predecessor] JOHN the Third in Jaworów on the Tuesday before the third Sunday after the nearest Easter in the year of our Lord 1672, a decree in the assessor courts of the crown chancellery [...] most graciously granted and bestowed by royal benevolence, signed with the own hands of the above-mentioned Most Serene Predecessors and strengthened with the hanging seals of both the greater and lesser crown chancellery, sound, whole, and intact, and free from any stain of suspicion. And a request was brought to us by these same councilors of ours in the name of the aforementioned Lwów Tailors' Guild, that we might deign to approve, confirm, and ratify these same rights, privileges, and ordinances with our Royal authority. We, therefore, AUGUSTUS THE KING, graciously acceding to their request as just and consistent with equity, have deemed it appropriate to approve, confirm, and ratify all the above-listed rights, privileges, and ordinances of the same guild (which we wish to have included and expressed herein) in all and each of their points, clauses, articles, provisions, and conditions, as we also hereby approve, confirm, and ratify them, with the rights of our Royal Majesty and the Republic remaining intact. Declaring that everything together and each separately contained in the above-cited privileges should retain the power and force of due and perpetual durability. Ordering both the castle and the council office of Lwów to maintain and preserve all these same privileges of our Predecessors granted to the mentioned Tailors' Guild, and approved by US, in all and each of their provisions, and to diligently ensure that they are maintained and observed by others, and to direct all the above-mentioned to proper execution, under penalty of our displeasure and by the duty of their offices, not acting otherwise. In witness whereof, this [letter], signed by our hand, we have ordered to be strengthened with the crown seal. Given in Warsaw, on the 28th day of the month of May, in the year of our Lord 1700, and in the third year of our reign.

Parchment document preserved in its entirety, with an ornamental royal initial and a coat of arms under the eagle (motif of a monogram / eagle with crossed swords and the coat of arms of Saxony and the Crown). Under the text, a blue-yellow silk cord is preserved, on which a red wax crown seal is suspended in a metal bowl/casing (scan 5). Handwritten signature of King Augustus II and the signature of secretary Wacław Franciszek Racięcki, Cupbearer of Rawa. In the year date of John Casimir's privilege, there is a scribe's lapsus: 'M.D.IX.' was entered (likely instead of 1649).
