ELDERS AND JUNIORS OF THE TAILORS' GUILD OF THE CITY OF KRAKÓW, METROPOLIS OF THE KINGDOM OF POLAND
To all and singular to whose notice this our letter shall come, and in particular to the famous lords elders and junior masters of the tailors' guild, our gracious and venerable brothers and friends, with prior diligent recommendation of our duties, we make known and certify that the famous Szymon Kubiszowski, patrician of Żabno, citizen of Lwów, in the past time under the famous Tomasz Rybalski, citizen of Kraków, our fellow brother, [received] training in this craft for a full four-year [period and] to the entire guild, as well as to his aforementioned master, our fellow brother, for the teaching of this art fully satisfied, and from this satisfaction he made the same free [...] [and] [...] we certify by this our letter. Therefore, we diligently recommend the said Szymon Kubiszowski, bearer of this letter, to all in general, of whatever status and condition they may be, as an upright, honest, and well-deserving craftsman for our guild, earnestly requesting for him and together with him, that Your Graces would deign to bestow upon him your kindness and deign to recognize him as trained in our art. Which we, in similar circumstances, shall be ready to reciprocate with an equal kind of service and kindness. For the greater faith and clearer testimony of which, we have ordered this letter, signed by our hands, to be strengthened with the seal of the guild. Given in Kraków on the seventeenth day of the month of August in the Year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eleven.

Reading notes
Journeyman liberation diploma (or confirmation of 4-year tailoring apprenticeship) in Kraków for Szymon Kubiszewski, native of Żabno, citizen of Lwów, who studied under the tailor Tomasz Rybalski in Kraków. Parchment sheet decorated with a colorful floral border (leaf and flower motifs in red, blue, green, and ochre colors). Traces of erasure or fading of text in 2-3 middle lines. The guild seal has not been preserved (lack of wax/bowl, bottom fold is smooth). On the verso, a Polish archival inscription: "Listy Kubuszewskiego". In the archival card, the surname is in the form: "Кубишевський Симон".
