Certificate of completion of merchant apprenticeship issued by Carl Lorenz Wewer for Johann Nikolaus Bosewitz

By virtue of this present letter of release from apprenticeship, Carl Lorenz Wewer, burgher merchant and trader in the Royal Prussian mediatized town of Bauerwitz in the Duchy of Silesia, certifies publicly, and especially where it may be required, that the bearer of this document, the honest Johann Nikolaus Bosewitz, native of Polnisch Neukirch in the district of Cosel, served his apprenticeship in my spice trade for five years, conducting himself during this time in commercial matters diligently, faithfully, and discreetly, for which reason I have not hesitated to release him, Johann Nikolaus Bosewitz, according to his merits, from his years of apprenticeship, and also to grant him a fully good testimonial of his impeccable conduct and to commit myself to certifying this under all circumstances. Which I confirm with my own signature and the impression of my usual seal. Done in Bauerwitz on the 3rd of January, one thousand seven hundred and ninety-eight. In Krafft dieses ausgefertigten Lehrbriefs urkundet Carl Lorenz Wewer Burgerlicher Kauf und Handelsmann in der Königl[ichen] Preuß[ischen] MEDIAT Stadt Bauerwitz im Herzogthum Schlesien öffentlich, insonderheit aber wo es von nöthen ist, daß Vorzeiger dieses der Ehrbahre Johann Nikolaus Bosewitz gebürtig aus Polnisch Neukirch Kosler Kreises, in meiner SPECEREI Handlung Fünf Jahr in der Lehre gewesen, sich während dieser Zeit in den Handlungsgeschäften fleiß, getreu und verschwiegen verhalten, weßwegen ich keinen Anstandt genommen Ihme Johann Nikolaus Bosewitz nach Verdiensten von seinen Lehr Jahren freyzusprechen, auch Ihme von seinen Wohlverhalten ein vollomen gutes Zeugniß gebe, und in allen Fällen zuerwiedern mich verbinde.
