Letter from the Carmelite Provincial to the authorities of Lviv regarding land for the monastery
The Carmelite Provincial, Fr. Krzysztof Sforza, apologizes to the authorities of Lviv for his hasty departure from the vicinity due to monastic affairs and informs them of the appointment of the local prior to conduct the survey and take possession of the donated land. He asks the councilors to kindly and promptly finalize the land grant for the construction of the church and monastery, promising constant prayerful remembrance for the donors.

[P. 2]
Gracious Mr. Mayor, together with all Your Graces, Gentlemen Colleagues, our Lords and Benefactors.
I wish Your Graces good and prosperous health and blessings from the Lord God, etc.
Since the road did not allow me to stay long in our poor monastery near Lviv, as my departure was urgent and I had to leave for other monasteries and hurry, I humbly ask that You, my Gracious Lords, do not take it amiss that we have not measured the boundaries of the land voluntarily offered by the grace of Your Graces, our Gracious Lords, with You, our Lords and Benefactors. Therefore, today I ask that You, my Gracious Lords, do not abandon your good and Christian intention as prudent Lords towards us, and [complete] the begun matter [...] and holy, as the best of men and endowed with all virtues [...]. I also give the Father Prior my written permission and power of attorney to negotiate with Your Graces regarding the measurement of [the land] for the construction of the church and monastery and other appurtenances; having all this authority from me, please grant him full trust and conclude this matter without delay, and donate with a generous hand this piece of land for the honor and glory of the Lord God and the Most Holy Virgin, His Mother, and we shall also remain bound for all time to pray to the Lord God for Your Graces and consider you our special patrons and founders at this famous city. When this result is achieved, the local Prior with his brothers will declare and confirm it in writing with thanks [...], and then our entire Provincial Chapter will do so as well. And so, I diligently commit and commend myself to the grace and friendship of my Gracious Lords and Benefactors. Given from the convent of St. Anne, April 12, 1622.
Your Graces' and Benefactors'
lowest prayerful servant,
Brother Krzysztof Sforza,
Provincial of the Carmelites,
