[P. 2]
In Warsaw, on February 9, 1698.
Monseigneur
Experience itself teaches us that only the will of God both initiates and governs all destinies, and no one can attain it sooner, unless the very time that brings it arrives. Reaching, therefore, the end of this desired happiness of mine by the grace of Their Graces the Deputy Chancellors, my gracious lords and benefactors, and having set the place for the completion of the ceremony of joining hands in the covenant of marriage with Her Grace the Deputy Chancellor's daughter, my gracious lady, for the 9th of February in Nesvizh, I dare to humbly ask Your Grace, My Lord, that you, together with Her Grace the Lady, would deign to honor the ceremony of this act with your gracious presence. I assure you that I shall follow this kindness, and with a retinue of friends in service, as well as for the glory of Your Grace the Lord [...] every fate, and with it my service to Their Graces [...] for always to every nod of Your Grace the Lord [...] remaining forever Your Grace's, My Lord,
I bow most humbly to Her Grace the Lady and beseech the same favor.
Kindly benevolent and humble servant
S. Chomentowski

Reading notes
Page 1 contains an inventory card. A letter from Stanisław Chomentowski inviting to his wedding with the Deputy Chancellor's daughter (likely from the Radziwiłł family, the ceremony in Nesvizh). The discrepancy between the date of the letter written in Warsaw (February 9, 1698) and the date of the ceremony in Nesvizh (also given as February 9) is puzzling – perhaps there was a mistake by the scribe in the day or the date of issuance.
