[P. 2]
My Greatly Respected Sir Commandant,
My Greatly Respected Sir and Brother!
With my brotherly greeting I address Your Grace, my Lord. I greatly request that Your Grace order the escape of three prisoners, great traitors, to be proclaimed by trumpet. On Thursday evening they escaped from Lviv at the fourth hour [...], whom I had captured [...] One in a hauberk, stout, speaks Polish and French fluently, this one [...] and the two of them were to head to Lviv. Therefore, may Your Grace be pleased to have the town hall guard prepared and announce that whoever pursues such men shall have a reward. With which, commending myself to your grace, I remain
Your Grace's, my Lord's, well-wishing brother and servant,
Aleksander Orzechowski
In Zhovkva, the 13th day of September, 1687.
[P. 3]
[Address:] If it is to be delivered to the Lord Commandant, may he be pleased to send it as quickly as possible to His Grace the Lord Commandant.
To be delivered to my Greatly Respected Lord, my Respected Lord and Brother, His Grace Lord Berens, Commandant of Lviv.

Reading notes
Letter from Aleksander Orzechowski to the Commandant of Lviv, Berens, with a request to proclaim (publicly announce) the escape of three dangerous prisoners and set a reward for their capture. In the inventory, the author is identified as Aleksander-Kazimierz, while on the letter he is signed only as Alexander Orechowski. The second name, Kazimierz, is likely known from other records.
