[P. 2]
My Dear Lord of Trakai,
Most Gracious Lord and Brother.
That you report prosperity in the management of the estate pleases His Grace the Benefactor greatly, and he recommends that you maintain diligent supervision over the revenues in the future. Any grain remaining from the sowing, especially that [...], His Grace the Benefactor recommends distributing to the poorer peasants, yet in such a way that they return it. His Grace the Benefactor is very pleased that you have settled the matter with Mr. Dydyński amicably, and he orders that you do not allow anyone to harm the peasants, always appealing to the protection of His Grace the Voivode of Volhynia. I urgently remind you, my Lord, regarding the camp provisions, that everything possible should be ready in advance, especially two good barrels of vinegar
[P. 3]
so that you, my Lord, may have them for the camp, as they are urgently needed there. Let the wagons be repaired in time, let the oxen be well-fed, and let all this be prepared early, so that he who arrives from His Grace the Benefactor with letters may depart immediately without delay; having entrusted this to you, my Lord, I remain by the grace of His Grace the Benefactor.
From Terespol, 22 April 1696.
To my Gracious Lord
your kindly well-wishing brother and humble servant
Podoski, by his own hand
