[P. 2]
Most Illustrious and Excellent Men, Mayor and Councilors of the Renowned Lviv Magistrate, Lords and Friends!
Lefter, my burgher, a merchant from Stanisławów, was robbed at a new Lviv inn – a significant sum was stolen from him. We therefore turn to you, my Lords, with a request on his behalf, that you, as those to whose authority and vigilance this should belong, would deign to look seriously into this matter, so that this distressed man may recover his property. For which, as I ask you, my Lords, once again, I shall acknowledge this favor and, in similar circumstances, will reciprocate with mutual friendship, with which I remain
Your Lordships' well-wishing friend and ready to serve
Andrzej Potocki
