[P. 2]
Most Honorable Mr. May!
If this humble letter of mine finds you in contentment and good health, it will give me great joy; as for me, I am doing well.
Honorable Mr. May, I am sending you my local contract and the certificate from Lviv, as the noble commissioner has requested to see them, and I ask that you be so kind as to show them to the commissioner. I also ask, if anything should come of it, so that I might receive the mill, to notify me immediately by letter on what terms this contract would be, so that I may comply with them. Although the contract stipulates a six-month notice period, since the pond is being drained for fishing, I am free whenever I wish. However, I ask for my contract to be returned; the parish priest will collect it. In the meantime, I send my respects.

Reading notes
Private-official letter in German (Kurrent script). Concerns the submission of a contract and a Lviv certificate regarding the lease/acquisition of a mill for presentation to the commissioner. In the inventory, the sender's surname was read as 'Сімон Ф.', and the recipient was described generally as the manager of the royal lottery in Brody (in the original: 'Kays. Königl. Lotterie Collecteur').
