Translation / modern text
At the request of the Bishop of Bila Tserkva, the writer asks the Lviv magistrate to support a prelate seeking the parish benefice that became vacant after the death of the suffragan priest. The writer notes that the candidate is an archcathedral canon and has suitable birth and education; the rest of the description of his merits is partly illegible. The request is repeated, followed by a respectful closing. The letter was written in Lviv on 14 December 1762.

Reading notes
The date and place are read from the closing dateline on PDF p. 3 (“w Lwowie 14 decembra 1762”), independently of the later archival card on p. 1. Page 2 clearly contains a request to support a prelate, describes him as an archcathedral canon, and mentions the parish benefice vacant after the death of the suffragan priest. The candidate’s birth, education, and character are only partly legible. The writer’s signature remains illegible.
