Page 1 is an inventory card; its “begun: 1696” entry is not the letter’s date. Page 2 contains the letter and page 3 its address wrapper. The note at the upper right of page 2 may read “d. 18 […] 1696,” but the month and reading are uncertain, so date remains null. The transcription preserves legible fragments and marks gaps explicitly.
