Reading notes
Merchant letter regarding an order for various fabrics and haberdashery (taffeta, damask, gold and silver lace in Polish and Hungarian fashion) for the fair in Lviv. The German language shows numerous phonetic features and interferences (e.g., 'garmark' = Jahrmarkt, 'Leof' = Lviv, 'Brroslaff' = Breslau / Wrocław, 'korunk' = lace). The address on p. 4 is written in Greek cursive, which indicates the Greek origin or connections of the merchant environment.
