Reading notes
The date 4 Aug. 1685 was read from the letter heading on PDF p. 2. The archival card on p. 1 gives the overall date range 4 Aug. 1685–10 May 1692 but was not used to determine this letter’s date. The association of p. 3 with the letter is probable based on its address and seal. The sender’s surname and the possible reference to Gdańsk are uncertain.
