Translation / modern text
The sender addresses the Voivode of the Ruthenian lands. He writes that in his present grief his greatest comfort is the recipient’s favor, and that the recipient extends a helping hand to him in his orphaned state. He promises to strive to merit continued favor and wishes the recipient success. The remaining passages are only partly legible. The letter is dated 20 January 1699 at a castle whose name is uncertain; the signature requires further checking.

Reading notes
The date, 20 January 1699, is read from the date notation on PDF p. 2 and agrees with the “Poczęto” entry on the inventory card, p. 1. The castle name, parts of the text, and signature remain uncertain. PDF p. 1 is an inventory card, not letter text. The transcription is limited to passages that can be read cautiously; this is not a full translation.
