The sender addresses the Voivode of the Ruthenian lands. He mentions being away from home, correspondence, and travel, but the details cannot be established with confidence. The letter is dated 24 October 1697 at a castle whose name is uncertain. The notation on p. 5 is an address on the outer sheet, not further letter text.
