No. 38 and former no. 23
Gracious Lord Chamberlain of Chernihiv, my Gracious Lord and Friend!
Following the confirmation of the pacts and conditions agreed upon with Shahin Agha, His Royal Majesty desires that the Zaporozhian Host remains in proper order and no longer gives the pagan [forces] allied with us any cause for hostility; in this matter, His Royal Majesty deigns to send his servants to me on purpose. In connection with this, I also, acceding to the wish of His Royal Majesty, urgently request that you deign to undertake this embassy and carry it out in accordance with the will of His Royal Majesty. For this task, I have also appointed Mr. Hołub, His Royal Majesty's rotmistrz. I entrust into the hands [...] of my Gracious Lord the letter of His Royal Majesty, the credentials, and the instruction according to which you shall proceed, while consulting in everything with His Grace the Starosta of Kaniów in person and seeking information from him, as he represents my person at the army on the spot. And once [he] arrives at the Sejm on behalf of my Gracious Lord to report on this embassy, Mr. Hołub should not depart from there and should make every effort to ensure that all boats are burned. I commit myself to the grace and service of Your Grace, my Gracious Lord. In Płoskirów, on the 20th of November, 1634.
I counted on the fact that [...] [you would] complain to your [people] about the future hardships of such long work, however, His Grace the Starosta of Łuck assured me that you undertook it willingly. Therefore, I pass this expedition sent to me into the hands of Your Grace. I do not doubt that, for the sake of your integrity, you will deign to finalize it and dispatch it according to the intentions of His Royal Majesty as soon as possible.
Your Grace's [...] obedient brother and friend,
Stanisław Koniecpolski,
Crown Hetman, with his own hand.

Reading notes
The lower part of the page and the right edge are slightly damaged and worn. The letter was written by a secretary, with an autograph postscript and signature of Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski. The year and day date are fully legible: Płoskirów, November 20, 1634. In the margin, there is an annotation 'in manu'. The inventory provides a collective date range (1633–1634) and a mention of talks with Shahin Agha, which corresponds exactly to the content of this document.
