[P. 2]
Most Illustrious and Most Excellent Lord and Most Venerable Benefactor!
While the Most Enlightened Lady Zamoyska could have shown me [favor] by reason of Your Excellency's gracious recommendations, had she not previously written to her sons to provide themselves with a person according to their own liking, it would not have been as pleasant for me had I not at the same time felt eternally indebted to Your Excellency. For which I again offer Her infinite thanks, begging Your Excellency's innate kindness to always preserve Her protection for me on other occasions that might arise,
[P. 3]
and especially should I be honored with actual service – a title honorable to me, just as I currently pride myself in signing as

Reading notes
The language of the letter is Italian (the inventory incorrectly read, among others, the location as 'Camorali' instead of 'Zamosco' and the year '1690' instead of '1699'). The name of the month was omitted in the date (entry: 'li 11 del 1699'). The addressee ('Palatino di Russia' in 1699) is Jan Stanisław Jabłonowski, Voivode of Ruthenia. The mentioned 'Madama di Zamosco' is Anna Franciszka née Gnińska Zamoyska.
