Brother and Benefactor,
Greetings and my commendations.
Having arrived home only today at midnight from the funeral of Miss Żółkiewska from Magierów, I found here a letter from Your Grace, my Gracious Lord, and the vicars of Krasnystaw regarding the interdict on the body of the late Mr. Szemiot of Krasnystaw. And since he had written to me earlier from the camp that the body was to be taken to Podhorce in these days, and I believe it has already been taken, there is no reason to send an interdict now; and the letter informs me that Your Grace, my Gracious Lord, has not yet begun this, as he died of typhus [...]. Even if the body were there [...], which I doubt, I do not see how an interdict could be imposed unconditionally according to the law, unless they intended to bury him there while bypassing our authority – in such a case, a suspension could occur, or rather, it could be sent ex officio upon the request of the aggrieved party. I would like you to let me know about this so that we may take further action upon prior consultation. I am writing back immediately via [...] and informing you about my health [...], and before the publication of this letter of mine, I have ordered it to be sent to the vicars, which [...] Your Grace, my Gracious Lord, will deliver into their hands as urgently as possible. From Zamość, given on September 19, 1673.
Most ready to serve Your Reverence,
Jan Zamoyski,
Bishop of Bacău
