[P. 9]
My Great and Gracious Benefactor,
I cannot proceed with Your Grace's affairs for the reasons I wrote about in my first letter to His Grace Mr. Grozwaier. However, I must consult with good friends, and if it seems otherwise to them, I shall do what is necessary. I have not yet received the money from His Grace Mr. Szalemberg; however, I understand that His Grace will pay when he is free from his current occupations. I have received 50 florins from the monks and I will give them to Your Grace, and I will pay for the beer. I am sending the decree belonging to Mr. Skurczewski and I ask that Your Grace be so kind as to deliver it, while commending my services. I cannot write myself at this moment due to difficulties. Today we shall be with His Grace the Chancellor. May it be successful. His Grace Mr. Grozwaier instructed me in his letter to consult with Mr. Zaleski and follow his advice. He gave the following advice: that His Grace Grozwaier should separate his inheritance and the legatees, and then, as a private person, he will resolve it without difficulty. I do not know how this will please His Grace. I cannot write anything new at this moment due to the press of business. I shall not miss any opportunity; for now, I only declare that I am Your Grace's humble servant.
